The Jeep's got a new issue. If you exceed half throttle it starts hemorrhaging oil out of the valve cover. The bolts aren't loose, so that means it's the gasket. It's a simple job but NAPA's closed. Honestly, I don't even think it's worth it as we've got a new engine going into the Wrangler soon.

Lol by the sounds of it you should rather drive a Land Rover, you still deal with the same problems but at least you have comfy leather seats and duel climate controls.

The climate controls fight with each other?
Also, you're talking about a new Land Rover. I'm talking about a Jeep that's older than I am.

THAT'S
older than you? God dam you for making me feel old. I had one of those back in college... 1990 with the 4.0L six. In that case scratch the
dual
climate control but keep the leather seats (even heated in some with the winter package).

Ours is a '91 with the 4.2. It was originally a 4cyl but a previous owner did an engine and trans swap. Why they didn't put in a 4.0 is beyond me, but now we are stuck with the suckfest that is the AMC 4.2. Also, I believe you've got your year wrong because the 4.0 wasn't available until '91.

Yeah it was a 91 now that I think about it, that was a good 15 years ago and my memory isn't what it used to be. Why they went with a 4.2 is a mystery, although when you have the engine (and trans?) out might as well check the 4WD vacum pump as mine went bad back then even. The rubber hoses crack and then you can't engage 4WD.

Surprisingly the 4wd is just about the only thing that works on the damn thing.
